2026 Art Goals and Promises

I have always been an absolute sucker for new years resolutions, long term goals, vision boards manifesting. It's a fine line, sometimes it feels like I might be setting myself up for failure, but I think the key is trusting my ability to withstand disappointment if I'm not able to reach those big scary goals. I am not a business minded person, I don't understand business plans and SMART goals - as soon as people start spouting those (important I assume) processes I'll be honest I start to disassociate, not unlike Kathy Hilton at a messy RHOBH dinner party. Anyway, to cut a long story short, 2026 feels like my year to really lean in and make the most of this opportunity with my work. Next year my oldest son is going to school and some big grown up financial things will be happening so I might have to look at returning to an actual regular job for a time to really support the family. In lieu of all of that, I am going to stop thinking about who (if anyone) is looking at this or maybe judging how vulnerable/self indulgent I am and just do all the hard things.

So here is my list of art goals (personal life goals also has a long list but I'll save you the drama of reading that) -

  • x2 art collections
  • Gallery representation
  • x3 textile projects
  • 5k instagram followers
  • x6 comissions
  • x1 art collaboration opportunity
  • Tea towels? Linen?
  • painting painting painting
  • Professional studio shoot

Will I hit all of them? No. Are some of them maybe a bit soft? Yes. Did Ai write any of this?? No. I love writing.

I didn't think I'd start a blog (again with the self indulgent) but hello lets all take up some space in this world theres too many bad guys and weirdos and robots being platformed.
